Our Story

Back in 1955 there was a need on the Southeast side of San Antonio

for a Baptist Church. So land was purchased, and the dream came true.

In 1961 the church was started and we have grown with people, and The Lord has richly blessed Southeast Baptist Church serving the Lord in this place.

Many people have come to know and accept Jesus as their Savior and this is our purpose for being here. We preach and teach Jesus and Give God the glory for all that is accomplished and he gives to our people a sweet, sweet spirit.

What started as a 4 room house today is represented by a 6,000 sqft sanctuary that will comfortably seat 250-275 people.

We reach out to the community in many ways and also have a Pakistan ministry.
The Lord continues to bless us with new members who are gifted as well as talented and who desire to serve their Lord to the best of their abilities.

Our Mission

Our over all Mission statement here at SEBC is "Seeking God's will in all that we do." This is very general but it encompasses the overall attitude that we have toward any endeavor we undertake.  If we organize any ministry project, it will be under the leadership and guidance of the Holy Spirit,  It is only through God's will that we will accomplish it.

What We Believe

Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer.  In its broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, sanctification and glorification.

A New Testament Church of the Lord Jesus Christ is a local body of baptized believers who are associated by the covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel, observing the two ordinance of Christ, committed to His teachings, exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His word, and seeking to extend the gospel to the ends of the earth.

The two ordinance are Baptism and the Lord's Supper

Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer's death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus.

Being a church ordinance, it is prerequisite to the privileges of church membership and to the Lord's Supper.

The Lord's Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby members of the church, through partaking of the bread and the fruit of the vine,  memorialize the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His second coming.
